The 'Red Indian' of York

 ©angeharrison

Spotted this old Americian Red Indian style fella
on a plinth above a shop in Low Petergate in York.

This one was used to advertise a tobacconist shop.
At a time when not everyone could read,
it would be easy to identify what kind of shop this was.
Apparently he's missing his horse
which is why he now lives high above the path!

The Saltburn 'Yarn Bombers'

For the past few years a secret group of knitters have 'yarn bombed' Saltburn Pier
with some rather quirky & lovely knitted displays.

Here's a selection from 2017s display.

The Seaham Serpent

In March 2009 a nine foot long Oar fish was found washed up on the beach at Seaham.

This quirky piece of artwork commemorates the event.

It can be found at the North Road carpark just above the beach.
